The sea in Veraval's Jaleshwar and Porbandar witnessed turbulence even as IMD predicted that the Cyclone Vayu will not hit Gujarat. The Indian Meteorological Department said, however, the cyclone effect will bring heavy rains to the coastal regions and 'there will be heavy wind speed'. The National Disaster Response Force team with the help of police and civil administration has evacuated thousands of people from coastal areas and shifted them to shelters.
